Using this website

Terms

These terms explain the basis on which you use ServingClock and its cooking tools. Please read them alongside our disclaimer and privacy information.

  • A practical planning aid

Use the tools alongside your recipe, food packaging, appliance instructions and relevant official guidance.

  • Check your own inputs

The result depends on the details you enter, including quantities, country, units and dates.

  • Keep the copy you need

Saved plans rely on browser storage. Make a separate copy of important information.

General information only

ServingClock publishes this website. Its tools and content provide general information and planning estimates, not medical, veterinary, legal, financial or safety advice. No expert review is claimed.

Check the official sources and speak to a qualified professional when you need advice about your circumstances.

Check before you cook

You are responsible for checking your inputs and deciding whether a plan suits your food, recipe and equipment. A calculated time or finished timer does not establish that food is safe. Follow the relevant food-safety agency, packaging and appliance instructions.

Information may contain errors or become out of date. Use your own judgement and use the tools at your own risk.

Accuracy, availability and responsibility

The site and results are provided without a warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability or suitability for a particular purpose. We do not promise that an estimate will match the cooking time in your kitchen.

As far as applicable law allows, ServingClock is not liable for losses from decisions you make using this site's information or estimates. This does not exclude responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your legal rights remain unaffected.

Your saved plans and shared copies

Plans saved on this device depend on your browser storage. Keep a separate copy of anything you need: clearing site data can remove saved plans, and shared or downloaded copies remain wherever you put them.

Enter details that fit the task

Choose the appropriate tool and read its purpose before entering information. A thawing target, oven start and serving time are not interchangeable. Check the selected country, food or preparation, units, dates and any editable recipe durations.

Validation messages help identify missing or unsupported inputs, but accepting an input does not establish that it suits a particular recipe or is safe. Review the explanation, result notes and relevant instructions before acting on the plan.

Recalculation, timers and working copies

Recalculate after changing the inputs you want to use. If the new result is the version you need, save it or make a fresh shared link or export. Another person holding an earlier copy may still have the earlier settings.

On-page timers depend on the page remaining open and on browser behaviour. Do not rely on the website as your only reminder for a time-sensitive cooking task. A downloaded calendar event is also separate from the open page and should be checked in the calendar application.

References, equipment and changing information

A link to an official source helps you inspect a reference in its original context. It does not make every food, recipe or appliance fall within that source's scope. Follow the guidance relevant to your own country, product and preparation.

Sources, website features and available guidance can change. A saved plan describes the inputs used to create it. Follow current official guidance and appliance instructions when you prepare a new meal.

Frequently asked questions

Can I treat a calculated time as a guarantee?

No. Results are estimates and planning information. Food, preparation and equipment can change the time needed. Use your own judgement and follow applicable official guidance and instructions.

Is a saved or shared plan automatically kept up to date?

A saved plan or share link contains a particular set of settings. Check the dates, country, inputs and current guidance before using it for a new meal. Make a fresh result and copy when the plan changes.

Where are the details about browser storage?

The Privacy page explains local saved plans, preferences, shared links, website requests and deletion. Files and links kept elsewhere need to be managed separately.
